Peter A. Milwid was admitted to the State bar of California in 1981 and the State Bar of Colorado and the United States District Court in 1982. He practiced natural resource, water, real estate, municipal and development law in Glenwood Springs, Colorado with the firm of Leavenworth , Lochhead and Milwid, P.C. until 1987.

In 1987, Mr. Milwid moved to Denver from the mountains, formed the firm with a partner who is now retired, and has been practicing bankruptcy law exclusively ever since.
